Ok
I suppose it's time for something new here. One can only read law-related things for so long before one needs a break, and your narrator has reached the point where such a break is necessary.
So.
Summer and I are married now, and in fact have been for one month and five and a half days or so. I don't know how all those of you who attended felt about the day, but it currently stands as easily the best of my life, from hanging out with the Allen guys to frantically scrambling around Portland, picking up important people, to seeing so many important people gathered in one place (and seeing Summer in her finery!), to the ceremony itself, to dinner, dancing, and karaoke, to the close of the night at the Grand Lodge. The pictures trickling in from various sources keep the residual good feelings flowing.
We went to Gold Beach, Oregon, not far from the border with California, for a few days of relaxation. Though the wind restricted beach access, we did wander along the Rogue River, hike around Cape Sebastian, and eat some truly delectable meals (including, I believe, Dungeness crab every day).
Then it was back to the real world; we arrived in Philly on a Sunday morning, drove through gray and dripping weather to Rhode Island that afternoon, and were working the next morning.
Since then, I finished at RILS, had the chance to try to make sure my life was sufficiently held together, and headed back to school. So here I am. Classes have started off well, with Civil Rights a particular favorite (shockingly), and my brief time in the Judge's chambers has already been rewarding as well.
There's so much going on that I'm not even successfully juggling it all in my brain, but I have students I'm tutoring right now, and clerkship applications I've sent out. Summer and I are getting the apartment set to be a marital abode rather than a student apartment. And we want to see lots of you, if anyone still reads this, more substantially than we might have at the wedding. That's all for now.

"if anyone still reads this"...you know I do...it's the only way I know what is happening in your lives...you do have my email address...and there is a question asked - several weeks ago - that has not been answered...hopefully...you know who
After my muted performance at the wedding, I feel compelled to offer up something appropriately outrageous here, lest I lose the reputation that your relatives so fondly bestowed upon me in Oregon. However, nothing especially shocking comes to mind, so I will merely note that I went white water rafting in the esteemed Rogue River...and ended up taking a bit of a swim in it when my family was unable to stand up to the challenge of a Class 4 stretch...
Nice job in Fantasy today, the complete opposite of my day. I'll imagine I got some of your catches and touchdowns.
Oh, and among the many fine things at the excellent wedding, let me compliment the excellent pinot gris. I have gone out and bought two bottles of it here in Seattle, and plan to use it soon in a delicious scallops and asparagus dish I have recently learned to make (and, of course, to drink the remaining 650 mL, hopefully with assistance).
