Like the classes (mostly, probably?) & all excellent profs. Hurray!
Tomorrow: Dux to celebrate Taylor's birthday. LHG will also be in attendance.
Weekend: to DE; concert w/ ALG eventually.
Affordable housing memo submitted. Phew.
Doing a bit more in court (pretty much only intakes, which means client interaction, which is always interesting).
Been pondering some things:
How much is racism/classism & how much is based on demeanor (and how much is demeanor based on race/class)? Seems a cycle there to be studied.
Is adversarial system bad for DCYF cases? Pits social worker vs. parents, which seems counterproductive. Wonder how to study.
Interesting that pretty much everyone refered to our unit w/in Legal Services qualifies financially. That seems to say something; I would argue that the something it says is more top-down than bottom-up.
I appreciate that the politics of my friends and loved ones tend to be driven by a sense of social justice, even if we disagree on the means to that end.
Enjoying the walk although I need a few minutes in the office in the morning for the A/C to take care of my sweat.
Feeling spiffy in my suits. Tailor altered one for me; spying my Azzurri jersey, engaged me in spirited and heavily accented conversation about World Cup & Europe.
World Cup is much fun. Forza Italia!
NBA Finals = ok. Don't like when players have the stripes on their side (see Shaq, '01 finals, Wade '06 finals).
Court making me want to reread Catch 22. After my gazillion other books. Nearing the end of The Island of the Day Before which is excellent.
Gear up; I want karaoke at the reception.
Time for a chapter or two, then sleep. Probably missing stuff here (i.e. promised details on DE trip 1, OR trip, movies, etc.). You don't see as many songs up above as before b/c Gnarls and Kanye have been in the cd player. + been craving old Radiohead. BLOWOUT.

Karaoke? Um, Linda and I are IN! 22nd. Great. I hope I wasn't too much of a nudge, but now can proceed to plan a great summer in the west, culminating in OR. I see Forest Grove, OR has many motels. Is this the muster site? Love your blog.
