Dear everyone,
Happy Easter.
Johnny B's is being evicted, and SEA and I are sad. Hopefully they'll find a new and happy home soon, since they were only given two weeks notice. In case I haven't raved about it enough to you yet, Johnny B's has become the automatic location for SEA's and my Saturday brunch, and has raised the bar for said meal to a new level with excellent food and thoughtful, personable servers. The coffee's good, too.
This afternoon we visited Greenvale Vinyards, had a wine-tasting and a tour of the grounds, which we are now considering as a wedding site. The locale is gorgeous, set in (guess the setting...) a green vale with a view of the Sakonnet river. The people were quite nice as well.
After that we went to Bristol town beach and wandered from there to Colt State Park, around the park, and back. I brought a starfish home. I didn't know we had starfish around here.
We also sampled a trendy Providence restaurant--CAV--tonight, in celebration of 2 years of hap-hap-happiness. I'd say it was pretty great, though not as great as the days since April 16, 2004.
In other news, I did quite well on my oral argument (with the RI Deputy Attorney General as Chief Justice), got a top grade on my paper, which has finally been returned from Lebanon, and am feeling academically satisfied. There was an honors program reception at the Dean's house on Tuesday (before I went to check out the Civic), which was a nice, catered affair, and I've also spent more time than usual with my classmates between the Affordable Housing Project (for which I had two meetings this week) and preparing for my oral arguments. So that explains why you've heard little from me, anyway--every minute of my time at school has been taken up by one thing or another, I've been getting home late this week, and I've had this and that other thing to do.
Oh, did I mention I'm hoping to sell the Bonneville and purchase a Honda Civic? The latter should be going through this week, though I then have to register it here before I can drive it home. With any luck I'll have the Bonneville ready to move by the time I physically get the Civic here, so there'll be little overlap and a parking conundrum.
Speaking of registering, I've also been raving about the woman I talked to at the DMV, who was one of the nicest people in like service situations I've ever talked to--eminently helpful. So the sailing should be smooth. And I'll likely be switching to a Rhode Island driver's license and perhaps registering to vote here instead of DE as well. I wonder if there are any good nicknames for Rhode Islanders.
So let's see--car, school (oh wait I should also mention that there's but one week of school left, then reading days and finals--shocking!!!), anniversary, life in general...that oughta do it for now. I've forgotten something or another, sure as I'm breathing, but I'm sure you'll figure it out with your super sleuthing abilities.
'Til next time, faithful readers, I bid you adieu,
Max
