Just had to comment on Izo:

Izo 1/2
Wow talk about painful. First scene: a man (Izo) being crucified and stabbed in the abdomen with spears, complete with sound effects and close ups of the wound. Rather than dying, though, Izo teleports from place to place calling everyone he comes into contact with a fraud or a liar, then killing them. Between killings is pseudophilosophical babble about what is existence? and must there be a reason for something irrational? and how there must be an imperfection for a system to be truly perfect. Izo kills a few thousand people, then kills infinity, then kills some more people, and finally is literally reborn. I've enjoyed other Miike Takashi films in the past (see Ichi the Killer), but, once again, wow this one was painful.

Aside from that, I had quite a lovely evening with the grandparents. Tomorrow it's back to the apartment and the cats and the mess and classes, oh my! When I get back, after playing with the cats and doing homework and such, I will likely take a shower and dry off with a luxurious new bath sheet.
