A New Discovery
The public library about 10 blocks away has free internet access. Huzzah for that!
I did my first laundry today, and bought a drying rack to steer clear of the 1.25 dryer charge. Everything seems to be going according to plan.
Also phone service should hopefully be in order tomorrow. I finally managed to talk to an actual human being, and they're going to have a someone come look things over tomorrow. If the problem's in the apartment and not outside, then we supposedly get charged, which probably means I will cancel Verizon and find some other way to keep in touch with people. Unless there's some ginormous cancellation fee.
I've also been doing my summer reading, having finished the Narnia series. Same-Sex Marriage and the Constitution by Evan Gerstman has proven very thought provoking, and I'm hoping it is predicative of my own legal education; all the logic is very tight, and Gerstman seems to have an excellent head on his shoulders. He went into the project intending to argue against the Constitutionality of same-sex marriage, but was won over by the logic of the other side.
That and I visited Taylor in the Dux this weekend. The area is kind of a sleepy, pretty place, but Taylor's friends liven the place up. They're all a bit crazy, and good times were had by all, I think.
It was also good to just see people in general. I get to use my voice pretty much only for the few calls I get or make each day, and for store-counter pleasantries. I'm looking forward to Summer's return, and to the various imminent visits. Hopefully I will be employed by the end of the week, and perhaps ready for another voyage to somewhere like Westport and the Bronx.
Cheers.

Glad to hear you're back from Europe and that you're settling in to Providence. I thought you might appreciate this "Clubs and Jobs" listing on the facebook profile of a friend of mine (a recent math major grad from Harvey Mudd): "Fans of Math Theorems that Require the Axiom of Choice." :)
