Zombies

Last night outside my window a zombie killed someone. The zombie and its resultant undead companion then continued on down the street and thankfully didn't find me as I quaked quietly in my sheets. Either that or there was a catfight.

In other news, my dad and I have played with my turntable and determined that it needs a new needle. Also Alex and I purchased spindles of CD-Rs and DVD-Rs. Also I have made 8 bazillion phone calls and as a result Summer and I will be living in an apartment with electricity and gas, and I will not be unenrolled from Roger Williams due to delinquent paying of my second deposit.

Last night I watched Dawn of the Dead with Alex. This has nothing to do with the zombies outside my window, I assure you. I was sufficiently pleased with the movie, particularly after having seen fifteen minutes or so of the original, which I found much, much worse.

Earlier in the night, I went to see Batman Begins with Mike and Jeff. It was good to catch up with the two of them and all the latest Tatnall gossip, and the movie was much better than expected, to boot! Maybe this tells you that I have unreasonably low expectations for everything, or maybe it tells you that I'm becoming a softy. I don't know which is the case, but anyway, I'd recommend the Batman movie, as I would the zombie movie (if you like that sort of thing), as I did with the George Lucas movie (go figure...).

Other things I've been up to include watching Repo Man (which I, of course, recommend!), cutting down branches in the backyard, starting to pack up my room and get rid of things I don't want/need, and catching up on 4 years' lost sleep. Tomorrow, however, there will be more housework, including no doubt some room work, and hopefully my dad will soon teach me the ins and outs of computer hardware, that I might fashion my brother's old machine into a combination DVD player/storage center, and perhaps a web server as well.

In the immediate future, I am looking forward to the arrival of a sadly scant but nevertheless good group of friends, bolstered by many more key family members and a key loved one, which shall be immediately followed by a trip to Italy with some of the key players mentioned above. Then what I've probably been thinking most about is moving into the apartment with Summer...exciting times. Really, what more could a guy ask for?
