DE

1500 miles or so later, I'm in DE. I also have an electric piano! Also my brother is missing, and I've been trying to wait up to say hello to him. I think I'll quit soon, though.

The trip was nice. Grandpa and I got to see some lovely scenery, drink plenty of cream soda, and eat some delicious things. We also heard lots of good jazz, as well as some early rock'n'roll. I recommend Rte. 30 through Ohio and Pennsylvania if you're not in too much of a hurry.

Unfortunately our band of merry travelers suffered a casualty along the way. Either Benman Pearl or Betsy Govoni, Dean of Students (whichever one was the little, skinny one) met with an untimely devise. I'm guessing that the cause of death was some large bump and a collision with the fake stump that they use for shelter. Luckily Laveranues and the surviving fish are in good shape and high spirits, despite the loss of their companion. Tomorrow I may well try to pick up a new friend for them, and additionally find some water to replace that which managed to escape my plastic wrap and dampen my off-white sports coat.

In the next week or so I will have to clean out my room. This may be difficult, especially considering the other stuff I will undoubtedly find to do, like sleeping. Z has five minutes now before I just go to sleep, since I'm somewhat tired and ought to sleep something resembling normal person hours.

In the meantime I'm missing people from Minnesota, and of course Summer as well. It will be deligtful to share an apartment with her this fall. Hopefully there will also arise a fresh batch of friends--but there are never replacements. I found no replacements for high school friends in college--there are no other Dans, Mikes, or Heathers--and I doubt there will be any Andys, Annas, or any of myriad other folks like that out east (unless, of course, Anna comes out to Vermont). Some people say they tend to make friends that remind them of people they already know. All mine are just themselves. "Make new friends but keep the old" they say--remember, you guys all count as old, and thus are solid gold, baby. Aw yeah.

Anyway, since you probably won't be there, communicate! Let us not be strangers! And come visit. Remember, there will be two of us in Providence...

Ok, Z's five minutes have turned into fifteen. I'm out. Peace to that dawg, peace to this dawg, here comes the Phife Dawg, a.k.a. the top dawg. World's greatest five-footer, as if you didn't know. Yeah.
